One of the Freshman Learning Community’s missions is to ensure that all students have a place within our school. To do this, we spend a large chunk of time fostering a team/family mentality among our students through our advisory program. This year, we are rebuilding our advisory program, naming it “I Am SANBORN”. S.A.N.B.O.R.N. stands for strong, appreciative, nurturing, balanced, optimistic, responsive, and needed. These are the qualities that we want all of our students at Sanborn to embody! We kicked off our new program on Thursday with a special assembly. All freshmen students received an “I am SANBORN” shirt (thank you to everyone who donated to make this possible!) and participated in an activity to introduce them to our 7 words! Throughout the rest of the year, we will be focused on lessons and activities to help build these traits, as well as giving shout outs to students that display these characteristics in our classrooms.
